Editor's Note

Sadiya Ali Hussein - Founder and Editor of Elmimag.com

"Elmimag.com isn't mine or Elays Network's magazine - it is our magazine; an outlet for all Somalis to share and promote Somalinimo."

There are many reasons why i started the magazine; however the key factor was the need for a platform where the Somali diaspora and those in Somali can unite through their achievements and thoughts.

Our Somali culture and essence is to be united and support one another, no matter where we are or who we are. - This is why i am proud to be Somali and i want to enhance this using Elmimag.com.

I would like to thank all the writers and everyone who has supported the magazine thus far, i am truly grateful.

If you would like to share your work or help recognise others please email us - elmimagazine@gmail.com

Best,

Sadiya

I would like to congratulate you for taking the initiative in putting Somali narratives on the platform. Somali community has resided in UK for over hundred years, yet we are still invisible and yet to make our marks on the national and international arena based on our numbers. I hope this encourages and supports, Somali communities from all different backgrounds, whether they are from Djibouti, Somaliland, Ogaden, NFD and Somalia territories. We should work on a common interest and establish ourselves in the Countries we reside. We need artist, educators, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs and so forth. I am wishing you a success and more importantly, to uplift the image of the Somali communities where ever they may reside. Good luck from Hargaysa.
